It’s Not Yours

This past Sunday 12/8 I told a story of a father that was teaching his 4 year daughter about stewardship. They were in church getting prepared to give unto God in tithe and offering and the father looked at his daughter and asked her was she ready to give, she reached in her colorful purse and nodded yes with a smile. When the collection pan came to her things changed and the quarter would not drop out of her hand, she was holding it so tight til her father had to remind her about stewardship and peel her fingers away from it one finger at a time. The congregation was celebrating and the 4 year old joined in with screaming and her father told her “This is how we celebrate when we give unto God.”, while the father was speaking to her he noticed that she wasn’t celebrating, she was saying “God, give me my quarter back.” Psalms 24:1 says that The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof, the world and they that dwell therein. We must remember that everything belongs to God including our lives through the good and the bad times. God knows what best for us. Ps. 84:11 says For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. Trust God with what you have because in all reality had it not been for His grace you wouldn’t have it.
